Committees

VAGARA exists because its members volunteer to serve!

Volunteering provides an excellent opportunity to build and expand your professional network and allows you to connect with other leaders in the Virginia archives and records management community. Serving on a committee helps hone leadership skills that can drive personal and career growth as well. Volunteer opportunities range from two-year appointments on standing committees to short-term assignments on ad-hoc committees.

Members interested in serving are encouraged to contact the board.

Audit Committee

This is a board-appointed ad-hoc committee consisting of two or more members.

Awards Committee

This is a standing committee chaired by the vice-president. The chair selects two past recipients to serve. This committee meets monthly from May to August.

Conference Committee

This is an ad-hoc committee appointed by the president. This committee meets monthly from March to October.

Nominating Committee

This is a standing committee whose chair is appointed by the president. The chair selects four members who must be approved by the board. In nominating years, this committee meets monthly from April to September.

This is a standing committee whose chair and two members are appointed by the president. This committee meets monthly from March to August.

This is an ad-hoc committee appointed by the president.
