Established in 1984, the Virginia Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (VAGARA) serves as a vibrant link in promoting the value of archival and records management practices at both the state and local levels.
VAGARA is governed by an executive board and four at-large members who are elected for two-year terms by the association membership. The immediate past president serves as an ex-officio member of the board. Members of the executive committee are appointed to subcommittees to plan conferences and workshops, award scholarships, publish a quarterly newsletter, and promote membership in the association.
